Addressing the ever-increasing demand to save time on the production floor, RF IDeas Inc., announced today its pcProx Plus readers designed specifically to interface with the Rockwell Automation PanelViewTM Plus human-machine interface (HMI) to automate the login process.
The leading innovator and manufacturer of authentication and in-building identification, RF IDeas collaborated with Rockwell to optimize workflow by partnering its pcProx Plus readers with the PanelView Plus terminals or Logix-based controllers for operator identification.
“The Rockwell Automations Encompass™ Product Referencing program has enabled significant opportunity for the RF IDeas product team to collaborate and develop a reader that meets the need of the Rockwell Automation end users,” says Rick Landuyt, President of RF IDeas. “This solution leverages existing employee badge systems and eliminates the need to manually login on the terminals.”
Throughout the day, valuable time is saved during the login process by avoiding typing errors and re-entry by simply waving or tapping a badge to the reader. Additionally, security configurations can be modified in the FactoryTalk® View Machine Edition application at design-time, as well as runtime.
- USB interface for connection to PanelView Plus terminals
- EtherNet/IP interface for connection to Logix-based controllers
- pcProx Plus readers support over 45 different proximity/contactless cards
- Versatile mounting options: desktop or surface mount

Adding public cloud resources to an existing application can be a daunting process. The tools that you currently use to manage the software and hardware outside the cloud aren’t always the best tools to efficiently grow into the cloud. All of the major configuration management tools have cloud orchestration plugins that can be leveraged, but there are also cloud-native tools that can dramatically improve the efficiency of managing your application lifecycle.

DevOps is often described as a combination of technology and culture. Without both, DevOps isn't complete. However, applying the culture to outdated technology is a recipe for disaster; as response times grow and connections between teams are delayed by technology, the culture will die. A Nutanix Enterprise Cloud has many benefits that provide the needed base for a true DevOps paradigm. In his Day 3 Keynote at 20th Cloud Expo, Chris Brown, a Solutions Marketing Manager at Nutanix, will explore t...
