Hotel's Next Generation Meeting Spaces Launch in Copenhagen, Denmark

Copenhagen Marriott Hotel Embraces Ideas 'Inspired by People, Imagined by Marriott'

COPENHAGEN, DENMARK -- (Marketwired) -- 08/21/14 -- Re-imagining the traditional meeting space to meet a growing demand for more inspiring and creative work environments, one of the prominent 5-star hotels in Copenhagen is re-thinking everything from boardrooms, breakout and pre-function spaces, taking a full approach to meetings and seamlessly integrating service, technology and contemporary design.

Responding to research that indicates people are now working differently than in previous generations, the Copenhagen Marriott Hotel is trending away from individual work spaces and shifting its designs to an ecosystem of places that gives workers choice and control over where and how to work.

"The way people work is changing but the way meetings are hosted at hotels, has not kept pace," says Gitte Nodskov, Director of Sales & Marketing, of the business hotel in Copenhagen. "Inspired by the way Generation Y meets and works, we are introducing spaces that promote collaborative work environments for more productive outcomes."

The Copenhagen Marriott Hotel's new meeting area will feature flexible work spaces that enhance the objectives of the meeting and its participants rather than being dictated by room lay-out or furniture. From networking events to business meetings, technology and design will blend to smoothly accommodate the manner and purpose of each gathering.

The spaces will feature wireless technology and include amenities such as video conferencing, smart whiteboards, projection walls, docking stations and touch screen controls. All technology will be app or web enabled, providing a platform for future technological innovation. And, in addition to these creative, high-tech spaces, the Copenhagen venue also features full-service catering with inspiring event menus that can be customized for any occasion.

Re-imagined meeting spaces are just one of a palette of concepts being introduced at the Copenhagen Marriott Hotel. Red Coat Direct, an app enabling meeting organisers to adjust and edit their meeting requests and preferences with the touch of a button, was introduced earlier this year. Kubernetes is an open source system for automating deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications. Kubernetes was originally built by Google, leveraging years of experience with managing container workloads, and is now a Cloud Native Compute Foundation (CNCF) project. In his session at 21st Cloud Expo, Michael Burley, a Senior Business Development Executive in IT Services at NetApp, described how NetApp designed a three-year program of work to migrate 25PB of a major telco's enterprise data to a new STaaS platform, and then secured a long-term contract to manage and operate the platform. In a recent survey, Sumo Logic surveyed 1,500 customers who employ cloud services such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). According to the survey, a quarter of the respondents have already deployed Docker containers and nearly as many (23 percent) are employing the AWS Lambda serverless computing framework. It’s clear: serverless is here to stay. The adoption does come with some needed changes, within both application development and operations. Tha...

You know you need the cloud, but you’re hesitant to simply dump everything at Amazon since you know that not all workloads are suitable for cloud. You know that you want the kind of ease of use and scalability that you get with public cloud, but your applications are architected in a way that makes the public cloud a non-starter. You’re looking at private cloud solutions based on hyperconverged infrastructure, but you’re concerned with the limits inherent in those technologies.
With tough new regulations coming to Europe on data privacy in May 2018, Calligo will explain why in reality the effect is global and transforms how you consider critical data. Companies are harnessing data in ways we once associated with science fiction. Analysts have access to a plethora of visualization and reporting tools, but considering the vast amount of data businesses collect and limitations of CPUs, end users are forced to design their structures and systems with limitations. Until now. As the cloud toolkit to analyze data has evolved, GPUs have stepped in to massively parallel SQL, visualization and machine learning.
