Fitz Balloon Bash Returns to Tunica Labor Day Weekend

Third annual event has become a Fitz tradition

TUNICA, Miss., Aug. 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Fitz Casino & Hotel, Tunica will be lighting up the Delta with the third annual Fitz Balloon Bash August 30th and 31st from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. both evenings.

The public is encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets, and relax on the front lawn of the Fitz. Tethered balloon rides will be offered for $2.00 per person from 6:00 p.m. until 7:45 p.m.  (Children 3 years of age and younger ride free.) The family-friendly events include a live DJ, jugglers, a painting performance, a dance contest, and a hotdog-eating contest. A balloon glow will take place at 8:00 p.m., with more than a dozen hot air balloons providing a breathtaking view by the shores of the Mississippi. There will be opportunities to meet the balloon pilots, and to learn more about how hot air ballooning works. Balloon races will take place Sunday and Monday mornings beginning at 6:00 a.m. at Tunica National Golf Course.

The Balloon Bash began in 2012 as a community-wide project, but has grown to be a Fitz exclusive event.  "We have an open space of land that will comfortably hold 15 hot air balloons," said Stacey L. Fuller, Fitz Promotions Specialist. "We are so excited to host this event, and we have an action-packed weekend planned.  The Balloon Bash will be filled with fun for all.
