TROY, Mich., Aug. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Bianchi Public Relations, Inc. – a full-service business-to-business public relations agency with special expertise in automotive supplier PR – will provide pro-bono media relations assistance to promote Alex's Arcade, a non-profit organization whose goal is to make chemotherapy treatments and hospital stays easier for children to endure by providing them with video games and equipment to give them a sense of comfort.
"We are thrilled to be working with Bianchi Public Relations on our public relations efforts for Alex's Arcade," said James Craven, president of Alex's Arcade. "Our hope is that everyone will become more aware of childhood cancer and realize how a small donation can have a positive impact on someone who is fighting the disease."
James and Nancy Craven founded Alex's Arcade after their son, Alex, was diagnosed with and treated for a rare form of lymphoma at the age of 12. While Alex was undergoing intense chemotherapy, he asked to have his Xbox brought to the hospital to help pass time during treatment. The gaming system provided Alex with one of his comforts of home, and in turn had a positive effect on his attitude during treatment.
Founded in 2014, Alex's Arcade is a non-profit organization that aims to help children with cancer better cope with chemotherapy treatments and hospital stays by providing gaming equipment and systems as a virtual escape from their reality. The organization collects and donates games, systems and equipment to infusion centers and oncology departments at children's hospitals in Michigan.
