Pilgrim Quality Solutions Cited in Gartner 2014 Hype Cycle for Life Sciences Report

Pilgrim Quality Solutions, a leading global provider of enterprise quality management software and services for the Life Sciences, today announced that it has been recognized in Gartner’s “Hype Cycle for Life Sciences, 2014.”1

Gartner Hype Cycles provide a graphic representation of the maturity and adoption of new technologies and applications, and how they are potentially relevant to solving real business problems and exploiting new opportunities. Gartner Hype Cycle methodology gives a view of how a technology or application will evolve over time, providing a sound source of insight to manage its deployment within the context of specific business goals.

The 2014 Life Sciences Hype Cycle reflects the growing importance of quality process management in the Life Sciences.

With an extensive portfolio of Life Science industry customers, Pilgrim is pleased to be recognized in the report’s “Quality Process Management Applications” category as a “sample vendor.” Quality process management applications are a subset of quality management systems (QMSs) that digitally represent standard operating procedures that govern, support and enforce conformity to quality standards ranging from internally or customer-defined business rules to International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards and government quality regulatory standards, like those established by the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) or European Medicines Agency (EMA).

Last month, Pilgrim was cited in two additional Hype Cycle Reports, “Hype Cycle for Process Manufacturing and PLM”2 and “Hype Cycle for Governance, Risk and Compliance Technologies.”3

“Pilgrim continues to grow as a leading QMS provider as a result of our ability to deliver complete solutions that address the end-to-end requirements of quality management in demand from highly regulated Life Sciences enterprises,” said Pilgrim’s Chief Executive Officer Thierry Durand. “Our inclusion in all of these Hype Cycle reports underscores Pilgrim’s continuous commitment to delivering much-needed software solutions to the global marketplace, and it reflects our good fortune at having world-class customers embrace our solutions.”

Providing the needed data for application development and testing is a huge headache for most organizations. The problems are often the same across companies - speed, quality, cost, and control. Provisioning data can take days or weeks, every time a refresh is required. Using dummy data leads to quality problems. Creating physical copies of large data sets and sending them to distributed teams of developers eats up expensive storage and bandwidth resources. And, all of these copies proliferating...
Malicious agents are moving faster than the speed of business. Even more worrisome, most companies are relying on legacy approaches to security that are no longer capable of meeting current threats. In the modern cloud, threat diversity is rapidly expanding, necessitating more sophisticated security protocols than those used in the past or in desktop environments. Yet companies are falling for cloud security myths that were truths at one time but have evolved out of existence.
Digital Transformation is the ultimate goal of cloud computing and related initiatives. The phrase is certainly not a precise one, and as subject to hand-waving and distortion as any high-falutin' terminology in the world of information technology.
