WASHINGTON, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA -- (Marketwired) -- 08/26/14 -- The Independent American Party National Committee has vetted and approved Cary Lee Peterson as the official candidate for the 2014 Congressional Election in the U.S. territory of Guam. IAP hopes that the approval of Peterson's candidacy for Guam's federal election will attract new members to the national political party, who identify with the conservative social and political views in the community, which are based on observing the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights and the restoring of traditional values of America.
The political party's decision to approve candidacy was announced only days after electing Cary Lee Peterson. LL.D. as the new chief coordinator of the Independent American Party of U.S. Territories (IAPUST), which includes Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, and Puerto Rico. IAPUST is currently working on getting registered with Guam Elections Commission to officially establish the Independent American Party in Guam.
Peterson previously told the press about the launch of the political party's 'Every vote counts' campaign that will focus on voter's awareness to encourage U.S. citizens living in territories of the United States and overseas military bases to register to vote and that there are 'viable alternative options' in terms of national political parties and candidates for the upcoming federal elections.
