VALENCIA, CA--(Marketwired - August 26, 2014) - PDC, the global leader of innovative identification solutions, announced today that it has appointed Robert Case as its new company president. Case will be responsible for expanding PDC's leadership position by growing overall revenue, enhancing the customer experience for the company's multiple identification markets including healthcare, leisure & entertainment and law enforcement, and driving the development of new and innovative products. PDC's former president, Tracey Carpentier, announced her retirement in July.
In his previous role as vice president of worldwide marketing and sales, Case was instrumental in acquiring and integrating multiple companies including TimeMed and The St. John Companies, and ultimately for creating the commercial model that exists at PDC today.
"This is a dynamic time for healthcare. The industry is experiencing significant changes that require meaningful product innovation and top-level talent to offer an unparalleled customer experience," Case said. "I'm honored to be given the opportunity to play an even greater role in continuing to grow this accomplished and respected organization that is known globally for its unrivaled ID products in both the healthcare and hospitality arenas."
In addition to healthcare, PDC is a global leader and pioneer in RFID wristband and kiosk solutions for major amusement parks, water parks, sporting events, and music festivals. With more than 55 years of experience, PDC connects people, products, and technology worldwide through innovative identification systems for the safe and efficient management of patients and procedures. PDC Healthcare is the result of the merger between two industry leaders and pioneers in healthcare: Precision Dynamics Corporation (PDC) and The St. John Companies Inc. The company serves the healthcare, leisure & entertainment, law enforcement, and animal identification industries.

In her session at DevOps Summit, Lori MacVittie, Evangelist for F5 Networks, will focus on how microservices are changing the underlying architectures needed to scale, secure and deliver applications based on highly distributed (micro) services and why that means an expansion into “the network” for DevOps.

The Internet of Things is not only adding billions of sensors and billions of terabytes to the Internet. It is also forcing a fundamental change in the way we envision Information Technology. The cloud has transformed how we think about software quality. Instead of preventing failures, we must focus on automatic recovery from failure. In other words, resilience trumps traditional quality measures.
Continuous delivery models further squeeze traditional notions of quality. Remember the venerable project management Iron Triangle? Among time, scope, and cost, you can only fix two or quality will suffer.
Only in today's DevOps world, continuous testing, integration, and deployment upend...

In the midst of the widespread popularity and adoption of cloud computing, it seems like everything is being offered “as a Service” these days: Infrastructure? Check. Platform? You bet. Software? Absolutely. Toaster? It’s only a matter of time. With service providers positioning vastly differing offerings under a generic “cloud” umbrella, it’s all too easy to get confused about what’s actually being offered.
