Acer and Fortemedia today announced that they have completed Skype and Microsoft Lync Audio Hardware Certification and will now offer a superior voice communication experience on Acer platforms using the Skype and Microsoft Lync applications. Acer and Fortemedia’s certification covers all Skype and Microsoft Lync VoIP modes including wideband and super-wideband speech. Additionally, Acer has included features that further enhance the Skype and Microsoft Lync applications.
The additional capabilities beyond basic Skype and Microsoft Lync certification include:
- Keyboard Sound Suppression – for simultaneous Instant Messaging (IM) when using Skype or Microsoft Lync
- Voice Tracking – for improved hands-free communication
- Far-field Voice Pickup – for improved group conferencing
- Stereo Recording – for meeting archive and record keeping
