Leading Software Maniacs is ready to start the development of our second productivity app designed to make everyone who needs digital documents reviewed effortless to manage. Kickstarter funding drive starts on Sep 1, 2014. Yeeehahhhhh! Here we go!!!

SEATTLE and ASHEVILLE, N.C., Aug. 26, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- By the way, who said press releases have to be boring? Leading Software Maniacs® (LSM) creates and presents innovative workshops on software development leadership fundamentals and creates apps designed to improve productivity for creative professionals.

We're building an app that should dramatically simplify the lives of marketing professionals, freelancers, authors, editors, and just about anybody that depends on getting their digital stuff reviewed by others in a timely manner. This app essentially automates the entire document review lifecycle and removes you from becoming the nag with constant questions like "are you done reviewing it yet?"

Why a press release to get Kickstarter funding? To get this project to the D-U-N-N released state, we need some help from resources identified in Denver and if we achieve our stretch funding goal, we'll enjoy giving a handful of interns a great learning opportunity to help in the development and lauunch of our app from colleges in the Asheville, NC area.

That's why we're partnering with Kickstarter and we need your help to develop and promote this collaboration app for release in 2015.

Spresso Workflow automates the entire document review process with these simple steps:

  1. The document creator drags and drops the digital artifact (document, graphic, or just about anything) to the Spresso Workflow app, selects all of the folks that should review it, and then clicks on the calendar to indicate when the reviews need to be completed.
  2. The app will alert each of the reviewers that a document is ready for their review and periodically reminds them to complete the review on time.
  3. Once all the reviews are done, Spresso Workflow notifies the document creator. No more constant checking or having to hassle the reviewers to remind them.

"The 'ah-ha' moment took place while witnessing a VP of marketing struggle at getting feedback from subject matter experts with press releases that needed to be reviewed," says Ken Whitaker, managing director of LSM. "It was like herding cats! And, in my role as editor at Better Software magazine, I found myself creating all sorts of checklists and email folders to keep track of the different phases of articles being edited and reviewed with authors that reside all over the world."

Ken goes on to say, "There are certainly enterprise workflow solutions available, but they can be costly to use based on committing the user to a subscription plan and requiring sophisticated system administration. There doesn't seem to be any commercial, reasonably priced apps that provides this workflow collaboration. I decided to design and build it myself to run on Windows and OS X—and eventually to run on the web in addition to popular mobile devices like iPads and iPhones."

Your time is valuable and the combination of Spresso Workflow and the cloud can make sure that others are reviewing your document without your constant attention. The app is amazingly simple to set up. In fact, you should be up and running within 15 minutes. Big Data engines are powering a lot of service businesses right now.
