Otter Products Honored As One of Nation's Fastest Growing Companies

FORT COLLINS, Colo., Aug. 27, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Otter Products LLC has once again earned a spot on the Inc. 500|5000 ranking of the nation's fastest growing companies. The maker of protective cases for mobile technology under the OtterBox® and LifeProof® brands celebrates its seventh year on this prestigious list.

Otter Products LLC has once again earned a spot on the Inc. 500|5000 ranking of the nation’s fastest growing companies, its seventh year on the prestigious list.

Otter Products came in at No. 986, with three-year revenue growth of 455 percent. The company debuted on the Inc. 500|5000 in 2007 with under 40 employees. Today, it employs more than 800 in the U.S. and has global offices in Cork, Ireland and Hong Kong. The aggregate revenue for 2014 Inc. 5000 companies is $211 billion, generating 505,000 jobs during the past three years.

"What surprises me, even though I know it's coming, is the sheer variety of the paths our entrepreneurs take to success, thematically reflecting how our economy has evolved," said Inc. President and Editor-In-Chief Eric Schurenberg. "This year there are far more social media and far fewer computer hardware businesses than there were, say, six years ago. But what doesn't change is the fearsome creativity unleashed by American entrepreneurship."

Otter Products was founded in 1998 out of founder Curt Richardson's garage in Fort Collins, Colo. The first OtterBox product was a simple dry box. By responding to the needs of an increasingly mobile savvy customer, the company evolved its product lineup to focus on device-specific protective cases. Today, OtterBox is the No. 1-most trusted brand in smartphone protection and the No. 1-selling in the U.S. 1

"Otter Products has come a long way since its founding, but the one constant has always been our focus on the customer," said CEO Brian Thomas. "With our commitment to protecting, connecting and enabling a mobile world, we hope to continue on this rapid growth trajectory that allows us to create jobs and impact our communities."
