ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwired - August 27, 2014) - According to the CDC's National Diabetes Statistics Report for 2014 there are 21 million Americans currently diagnosed with diabetes and another 8.1 million undiagnosed with the disease. In its efforts to raise awareness about diabetes and its impact in the Atlanta community, the local chapter of the American Diabetes Association will host two Step Out Walk To Stop Diabetes events on Saturday, October 4th at Independence High School in Alpharetta and on November 8th at Turner Field in Atlanta.
This year's walk will be a huge celebration filled with music, food, kids activities, local entertainment along with hundreds of people who truly understand the impact of diabetes. A healthy breakfast will be provided along with a fun warm up before the 5k walk at each event. There will be opportunities to learn more about diabetes, health & wellness as well as an opportunity to interact with sponsors and vendors at the event.
Families, corporations and individuals are encouraged to participant as Step Out Walk To Stop Diabetes is the signature fundraising event for the American Diabetes Association with over $175,000,000 raised to help in the fight to stop diabetes.
