Accenture Named ‘Principal Team SCA Digital Supplier’ of SCA’s All-Women Sailing Team Participating in the Volvo Ocean Race

SCA, a leading global hygiene and forest products company, has selected
Accenture (NYSE: ACN) to deliver a range of digital services to help
maximize the outcomes of SCA’s participation in the 2014-15 Volvo Ocean
Race. As “Principal Team SCA Digital Supplier,” Accenture will provide
analytics and interactive marketing expertise to support the all-female
Team SCA during the nine-month around the world race and raise its
profile with global audiences through multiple digital channels.
Accenture will deliver a range of solutions and services to SCA through
Accenture Interactive and Accenture Analytics, both now part of
Accenture Digital. This includes the development and provision of an
online performance center that will be at the heart of Team SCA’s online
presence at Volvo Ocean Race. The center will deliver social media
monitoring and analysis of Team SCA’s performance across all relevant
digital marketing channels. Accenture will also provide service design
and realization of mobile marketing activities such as apps, as well as
guidance on shaping, localizing and delivering its communications
campaigns to audiences in multiple markets covered in the campaign.

The Volvo Ocean Race, which began life as the Whitbread Round the World
Race in 1973, is a round-the-world yacht race and one of the most
coveted prizes in the sport. The 12th edition of the Volvo Ocean Race
will start on October 4, 2014, the day of the first In-Port Race in
Alicante, Spain, and finish with one last In-Port Race on June 27, 2015
in Gothenburg, Sweden. The 38,739-nautical mile route will include
stopovers in Cape Town (South Africa), Abu Dhabi (UAE), Sanya (China),
Auckland (New Zealand), Itajaí (Brazil), Newport (Rhode Island, US),
Lisbon (Portugal), Lorient (France) a pitstop in The Hague (The
Netherlands) before finishing in Gothenburg (Sweden).
