DALLAS, Aug. 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Voyager Sopris Learning™, provider of a comprehensive suite of evidence-based interventions, assessments, and professional services, announced today that the online version of LANGUAGE!® with Focus on English Learning (FOEL) and Everyday English Plus is now available for purchase. LANGUAGE with FOEL is an intensive literacy intervention that integrates reading, writing, spelling, vocabulary, grammar, foundational skills, and spoken English to raise the achievement of students, including newcomers to English, in grades 4–12.
With this release, LANGUAGE! FOEL and Everyday English Plus materials are available in an interactive eBook platform. Major benefits of this platform are that it enables literacy educators to:
- Teach LANGUAGE! FOEL and Everyday English Plus digitally from any device
- Send notes and assign work to students
- Evaluate work and send immediate feedback to students
- Increase opportunities for student self-monitoring
With the new eBooks, students are able to highlight, make notes, and show their work. Additionally, they can submit assignments and review feedback. Students can use analytics to see the time they spend on assignments in text and percent complete.
Moving the content to a digital platform increases implementation flexibility and supports school district technology initiatives. LANGUAGE! provides an acceleration solution for non-readers, struggling readers, and English language learners utilizing mastery and skill based instruction. The Focus On English Learning component provides additional research-based strategies for English learners. Everyday English Plus provides a primer to develop the skills of newcomers to the English language prior to entering the LANGUAGE! curriculum.
"Since supporting schools and districts in their technology initiatives is one of our primary goals, digitizing LANGUAGE! components increases options for connecting what students know and like about digital tools and what educators know about good teaching," says George Logue, president of Voyager Sopris Learning. "The LANGUAGE! FOEL eBook provides a wide array of innovative tools that inspire and engage both students and teachers."
LANGUAGE! with FOEL, Everyday English Plus, and eBooks is available for implementation now. For more information, visit www.voyagersopris.com/language.
