Delphi Automotive PLC Research Reports
On August 21, 2014, Delphi Automotive PLC (Delphi) informed though a press release that it has reached a new milestone by selling its one millionth electronically scanning radar (ESR) globally as car makers meet growing customer demand for new technologies that improve safety. Delphi stated that it launched ESR in 2009 with features like multi-mode operation, digital beam forming, and a STAR-Pulse Doppler waveform that resulted in a new level of proficiency. Further, the Company's radar and vision systems portfolio provides layers of protection that intelligently monitor and scan the vehicle's internal and external environment. In addition, ESR is also equipped with a complete suite of collision avoidance and driver convenience features like Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) for vehicles, pedestrians and animals, as well as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). Beth Schwarting, Vice President, Delphi Electronic Controls, said, "Passive safety technology, such as seat belts and airbags, has significantly helped reduce vehicle fatalities but, despite this, the U.S. still records about six million accidents per year.
