WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwired - September 02, 2014) - After the Consulate General of Switzerland in Chicago closed in July 2014, residents of the greater Chicago area and the rest of the Midwest had to travel to Washington, D.C. or New York City to obtain their Schengen visas if Switzerland was their point of entry. Switzerland has therefore made an arrangement with Lithuania to offer better service to residents of the states of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin who are traveling to the Schengen area as tourists or on business.
Applicants who qualify for a Schengen tourism or business visa can now submit their applications to the Consulate General of Lithuania in Chicago. The Consulate General of Lithuania will examine applications for tourism and business visas for short stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period in the Schengen area.
This arrangement makes it possible to provide better service to residents of the greater Chicago area and the rest of the Midwest who plan to enter the Schengen area through Switzerland.

The Internet of Things (IoT), in all its myriad manifestations, has great potential. Much of that potential comes from the evolving data management and analytic (DMA) technologies and processes that allow us to gain insight from all of the IoT data that can be generated and gathered. This potential may never be met as those data sets are tied to specific industry verticals and single markets, with no clear way to use IoT data and sensor analytics to fulfill the hype being given the IoT today.
