Gordon McMillan, the company's president and chief creative officer, explains that this small change will have profound implications for the agency and its roster of global clients.
In complex modelling exercises undertaken by the agency's analytics team, the monthly savings associated with typing in a shorter URL were estimated to fall between $412.75 and $414.03 per month. Over time, those figures add up.
"And who's to say how our clients might use the time they save by typing in this shorter URL?" McMillan asks. "They could expand their business, refine their products and services... extrapolated from there, this could benefit the wider world in ways we can't possibly imagine."
