CARLSBAD, Calif., Sept. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Legend3D, Inc, an industry-leading 2D to 3D conversion studio, announced that Emmy Award winner, Chris Del Conte, has joined the company as Vice President of Production in their Carlsbad studio. In his role at Legend3D, Del Conte will oversee all production aspects of the Carlsbad studio including stereo conversions of features, commercials and special venue projects. "Legend3D offers the best in 3D conversion techniques and expertise to filmmakers around the globe and I'm very proud to become part of this team," said Del Conte. Chris will share time between the Carlsbad office as well as the newly established Los Angeles 3D Hub. "I am proud to work for a company like Legend3D that recognizes the importance of being competitive, but also remaining in California to utilize the unbridled local talent pool."
He joins Legend3D from Prime Focus where he held multiple titles including Managing Director, as well as VP of Business Development. While at Prime Focus, he oversaw Prime's conversion scope of work on Guardians of the Galaxy, and the full conversions of Star Wars: Episode II and Star Wars: Episode 3, Men in Black 3 as well as the original 1939 Wizard of Oz conversion for Warner Bros. During his tenure at Prime, he also was instrumental in the production of the "Op's Center" sequences of James Cameron's visually-stunning 3D film Avatar. Prior to that, he was with Technicolor where he was the Executive Producer of their newly established 3D division, overseeing conversion projects including DreamWorks Animation's Kung Fu Panda (2008).
With more than 20 years of VFX and Production experience at VFX houses including CentropolisFX, Cinesite and Digital Dimension, in 2006 he won an Emmy for Outstanding Graphic Design for FOX's Super Bowl XXXIX Opener. He also received a nomination in 2007 for Outstanding Special Visual Effects for a Miniseries, Movie or a Special for HBO's Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee.

Legend3D currently has a 60,000 sq. ft. production studio in Carlsbad, California and just completed a state-of-the-art 3D review hub in Hollywood.
