MetroPCS Opens New Doors in 10 New Markets & Celebrates by Giving Customers More High-Speed Data

T-Mobile (NYSE: TMUS) today announced the third major expansion of its flagship prepaid brand MetroPCS in just two years, propelling MetroPCS into 10 new markets across the country this fall. Over the last year and a half, T-Mobile has aggressively grown the MetroPCS brand, going from just over 6,000 points of sale in only 15 metropolitan areas to nearly 11,000 points of sale in 55 metropolitan areas with this expansion.

MetroPCS is doubling down on value by rewarding loyal customers nationwide who’ve helped fuel the brand’s success. Effective immediately, customers with MetroPCS’ famous “$40, Period” rate plan, which includes all taxes and fees, on T-Mobile’s wicked fast 4G LTE network will get double the high-speed data. It’s being increased from 500MB per month to 1GB per month. And if you are currently on the $50 plan, your high-speed data bucket just went from 2.5GB to 3GB of 4G LTE data per month on T-Mobile’s network.

And, unlike with other wireless providers who make their customers jump through hoops or opt-in to get their latest deals, MetroPCS isn’t asking customers to lift a finger. The new high speed data just shows up automatically. There’s no extra cost, no additional paperwork and no hoops required.
