MEXICO CITY, Sept. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Commenting on Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto's second state of the nation speech, Carlos Hank Gonzalez, CEO of Grupo Financiero Interacciones and Grupo Hermes, called on the business community to be part of the "new Mexico" already laid out by the federal government, and for every businessman and woman to do their part to make this a reality.
"With the structural reforms approved, the federal government has laid the groundwork for a profound transformation of our economy, and indirectly, of the very social fabric of this country. This is an opportunity we mustn't waste to take a quantum leap and place ourselves at the forefront of emerging countries. As businessmen, it's up to us to move Mexico as well," Mr. Hank asserted.
Grupo Hermes and Grupo Financiero Interacciones have developed a solid and recognized track record in building and financing infrastructure works. Banco Interacciones is the largest specialized bank in Mexico and Grupo Hermes Infraestructura has participated in key public works like the Gran Museo del Mundo Maya and the Durango-Mazatlan highway. Based on this experience, Carlos Hank Gonzalez remarked that the President's decision to build a new airport for Mexico City is consistent with the demands of our country: "This was a need identified decades ago, and I'm very glad the government can finally make this announcement. A country that intends to play in the major leagues needs major-league infrastructure."
Carlos Hank Gonzalez sees the president's speech as "the kickoff signal for building another Mexico. But building it is everyone's responsibility, and as businessmen and women, we have to play our part by creating jobs and economic growth."

Overgrown applications have given way to modular applications, driven by the need to break larger problems into smaller problems. Similarly large monolithic development processes have been forced to be broken into smaller agile development cycles. Looking at trends in software development, microservices architectures meet the same demands. Additional benefits of microservices architectures are compartmentalization and a limited impact of service failure versus a complete software malfunction....

There will be 20 billion IoT devices connected to the Internet soon. What if we could control these devices with our voice, mind, or gestures? How can I gain these super powers? In his session at 17th Cloud Expo, Chris Matthieu, co-founder and CTO of Octoblu, will show you!

Developing software for the Internet of Things (IoT) comes with its own set of challenges. Security, privacy, and unified standards are a few key issues. In addition, each IoT product is comprised of at least three separate application components: the software embedded in the device, the backend big-data service, and the mobile application for the end user's controls. Each component is developed by a different team, using different technologies and practices, and deployed to a different stack/...

The last decade was about virtual machines, but the next one is about containers. Containers enable a service to run on any host at any time. Traditional tools are starting to show cracks because they were not designed for this level of application portability. Now is the time to look at new ways to deploy and manage applications at scale. In his session at @DevOpsSummit, Brian “Redbeard” Harrington, a principal architect at CoreOS, will examine how CoreOS helps teams run in production. Attende...
