RICHARDSON, TX -- (Marketwired) -- 03/01/15 -- Hitachi Communication Technologies America, Inc. (Hitachi CTA) announced availability of its virtual Mobile Core (vMC) solution suite.
Hitachi CTA's virtual Mobile Core (vMC) solution suite consists of several Telco Cloud Carrier-grade products which can be deployed either standalone or in combinations based on operator needs. The vMC solution suite includes MME, MME-XT3, SGSN, Small Cell Gateway, EMS and VNF Manager. Hitachi CTA's MME-XT3 - (MME-eXTended capabilities) is a composite VNF combining MME, SGSN and an integrated SGW that provides a S5/S8 interface to the PGW. All products in Hitachi CTA vMC solution suite runs as virtual applications on a variety of virtual infrastructures, including Juniper's Contrail Cloud, VMware and Openstack/KVM to name a few. Hitachi CTA's vMC solution suite is platform agnostic and supports a mobile network operator's preferred platform choice.
Hitachi CTA vMC solution suite addresses evolving needs of wireless service providers to quickly deploy carrier-grade Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) applications in a Telco Cloud, without the need to invest in discrete, proprietary physical network elements. Hitachi CTA is leveraging the robust and highly available commercial NFVI architecture, creating a truly elastic set of network functions that maximizes the benefits of virtual network elements to add capacity without complexity. This includes:
- Subscriber sessions - enabling the millions of new LTE and machine to machine (M2M) devices; and
- Transactions processing - managing the dramatic increase in 4G device transactions rates; and,
- Radio access network connectivity - exceeding the fan-out required by the increasing deployment of small cells.
- Reduction of Transactions - MME-XT3 composite VNF reduces the number of transactions, eliminates various race conditions and simplifies an operator's DNS configuration
"Hitachi CTA leads the market in delivering a highly functional, high-performance MME/SGSN VNF, architected to scale well beyond 20 million simultaneously active subscribers," said Reg Wilcox, CEO of Hitachi CTA. "Hitachi continues to add several mobile core carrier-grade VNF applications that enable us to meet the performance and scalability requirements of the largest mobile service providers in the world."
Technical and market trials with Hitachi CTA virtual Mobile Core solution suite are in progress with leading operators. These trials demonstrate Hitachi CTA's highly flexible and scalable architecture along with feature-rich capabilities in moving legacy networks to an NFV architecture.

Culture is the most important ingredient of DevOps. The challenge for most organizations is defining and communicating a vision of beneficial DevOps culture for their organizations, and then facilitating the changes needed to achieve that. Often this comes down to an ability to provide true leadership. As a CIO, are your direct reports IT managers or are they IT leaders? The hard truth is that many IT managers have risen through the ranks based on their technical skills, not their leadership abi...
