Innovative Detox Offers Simple Self-Tests for Addiction

Are You or Someone You Love -- Addicted to Opiates or Alcohol?

LAS VEGAS, NV -- (Marketwired) -- 05/28/15 -- Las Vegas-based Innovative Detox has just published two addiction self-tests -- one self-test for addiction to opiates such as Heroin, or to prescription painkillers such as morphine, oxycodone or hydrocodone -- and another self-test for addiction to alcohol.

These tests are offered free, online, with no obligation or even registration.

"Anyone who's concerned about their own potential for addiction -- or who worry about a loved-one who may have fallen into addiction -- can gain insight into that condition by taking one of these tests," according to Dr. Lucas Furst, President of Innovative Detox, the medically-based rapid detox addiction-treatment program in Las Vegas. "These tests are based on extensive research, as well as on the clinical expertise of our multi-disciplinary team of board-certified physicians.

"These tests are important to those worrying about addiction. There is a major difference between using prescription opiates painkillers to fight debilitating pain and being addicted to either prescription or street-drug opiates," Dr. Lucas Furst pointed out. "There is also a substantial difference between habitual heavy drinkers or occasional binge drinkers and those who are alcoholics -- people addicted to alcohol.

"Heavy -- but non-addicted -- users can quit or taper off, usually without clinical intervention," Dr. Furst explained. "However, those people who are addicted have a medical condition. Most of them require a medical treatment to free them from their addiction. Government and university clinical studies have shown that just 24 percent of those who try to beat an addiction on their own actually succeed.

"It's interesting to note that a broad range of clinical studies found that just 25 percent of those who try to use a conventional 28-day residential treatment program succeed. These 'Hazelden' model programs depend on willpower in order for patients to overcome their addiction. It's worth noting that these 28-day residential programs have the same success rate as those addicts who go cold-turkey on their own.

"This is not just our opinion. Studies document that roughly the same number of strongly-motivated individuals beat addiction 'cold turkey' as succeed using the willpower approach followed in conventional 28-day residential treatment programs.

"However, a review of sixteen published clinical studies has found that our medically-based Rapid Detox approach to treating addictions to opiates or alcohol has a success rate of more than 75 percent, with most studies reporting that our approach achieves success rates in the 90th percentile. Several studies document a 100 percent success rate," Dr Furst said.

Three factors stand in the way of success through one of the conventional treatment programs: the suffering caused by withdrawal, the risk that a single "slip" can bring the addiction back full-force, and the daily cravings that have led to AA describing lifelong recovery as "one day at a time."

However, by treating addiction as a medical problem, rather than one of willpower vs. moral failings, the Rapid Detox approach used by Innovative treats addiction medically. Doing so, Innovative Detox eliminates all three of the barriers to success found in willpower-based treatment programs.

"First, we put our patients under anesthesia, and while they are under, we medically induce withdrawal. We perform this medically-safe procedure using a proprietary combination of FDA-cleared medicines," Dr. Furst explained. "Within roughly four hours, the drugs or alcohol have been stripped from the body, transforming the addict into a former addict. This process, under anesthesia, eliminates the legitimate fear addicts have of going through weeks of withdrawal.

"Then, we provide each former addict with a non-addictive FDA-cleared prescription that, taken as directed, prevents re-addiction even while it blunts cravings. This eliminates the former addicts' risk of accidentally -- or even intentionally -- exposing themselves to alcohol or opiates. If they do, literally nothing will happen. No high, no buzz, no re-addiction.

"Finally," Dr. Furst noted, "this non-addictive addiction-blocker medication also removes cravings. There is no life-long 'one day at a time' process of being 'in recovery.' Former addicts are cured of their addictions, and are free to begin their second chance at life."

The Innovative Detox approach to overcoming addiction -- the "ID-Method" built around an anesthesia-facilitated ultra-rapid detox medical procedure -- not only works with a high degree of confidence while more conventional approaches usually fail, but the ID-Method takes just five to seven days, and costs less than half as much as the 28-day residential treatment programs.

While the ID-Method is considered elective by most insurance companies, financing is available.

"If you know someone who might be struggling with addiction, the first step is to take these self-tests for alcohol or opiate addiction," Dr. Furst said. "The next step is to call Innovative Detox at 702-450-8450 to schedule a free evaluation, to make sure that our Rapid Detox approach to fighting and beating addictions is right for that special person in your life."

About Innovative Detox

DevOps is under attack because developers don’t want to mess with infrastructure. They will happily own their code into production, but want to use platforms instead of raw automation. That’s changing the landscape that we understand as DevOps with both architecture concepts (CloudNative) and process redefinition (SRE). Rob Hirschfeld’s recent work in Kubernetes operations has led to the conclusion that containers and related platforms have changed the way we should be thinking about DevOps and...

The next XaaS is CICDaaS. Why? Because CICD saves developers a huge amount of time. CD is an especially great option for projects that require multiple and frequent contributions to be integrated. The only way to get CICD to work in a highly secure environment takes collaboration, patience and persistence. Building CICD in the cloud requires rigorous ar...
Companies are harnessing data in ways we once associated with science fiction. Analysts have access to a plethora of visualization and reporting tools, but considering the vast amount of data businesses collect and limitations of CPUs, end users are forced to design their structures and systems with limitations. Until now. As the cloud toolkit to analyze data has evolved, GPUs have stepped in to massively parallel SQL, visualization and machine learning.

Large industrial manufacturing organizations are adopting the agile principles of cloud software companies. The industrial manufacturing development process has not scaled over time.
