American Joint Replacement Registry and Q-Centrix Join Forces to Help Hospitals Improve Data Efficiency

Innovative Collaboration Removes Barriers to Participation in Registry for Hospitals Across the Country

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwired - August 31, 2016) - Q-Centrix, a leading quality data solution provider in healthcare, today announced a collaboration with the American Joint Replacement Registry (AJRR), the national hip and knee arthroplasty registry.

The two organizations have joined forces to improve data submission efficiency for hospitals and orthopaedic practice groups throughout the country. The AJRR joins a growing number of organizations who recognize Q-Centrix solutions can help reduce the barriers associated with healthcare quality improvement, including the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, M2S and more.

"The AJRR mission and our own complement each other nicely," explains Milton Silva-Craig, Q-Centrix CEO. "We both aim to improve patient care through the accurate and timely collection and use of evidence-based data, and we're proud to offer a solution that allows more hospitals and group practices to participate in the registry."

As the largest U.S. orthopaedic registry-with patient information from all 50 states and the District of Columbia-the AJRR provides benchmarks at the individual, system and national levels to aid institutions comparing their outcomes over time. These benchmarks can aid in meeting requirements for federal quality initiatives. The Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement (CJR) model is a quality initiative that offers bonus points for the submission of patient-reported outcomes (PROs); the new partnership between Q-Centrix and the AJRR allows for the easy transmission of PRO data to the registry platform in a format that the government will accept.

"The AJRR continues to collaborate with technology vendors who align with our mission to use the collection of data to improve outcomes," said AJRR Board of Directors Chair Daniel J. Berry, MD. "Our participating hospitals, surgeons and ambulatory surgery centers use a variety of high-quality vendors for the collection of patient data and we support and encourage the submission of data through this program."

Thanks to its technology platform and team of more than 600 nurse-educated, quality information specialists who work remotely throughout the country, Q-Centrix processes in excess of one million quality data transactions annually. A leader in the industry, Q-Centrix comprehensively manages quality data abstraction, extraction and surveillance to help healthcare providers measurably improve the safety and quality of care they deliver, while reducing costs.

"We're always looking for ways to help hospitals improve quality outcomes, and we believe that simplifying the process to abstract or extract and submit evidence-based data is the key," explained Silva-Craig. "In addition to our expert team, our Q-Registries technology platform increases efficiency for the entire registry encounter lifecycle. We are excited to be able to apply that process to the relationship with the AJRR."

DevOps is under attack because developers don’t want to mess with infrastructure. They will happily own their code into production, but want to use platforms instead of raw automation. That’s changing the landscape that we understand as DevOps with both architecture concepts (CloudNative) and process redefinition (SRE). Rob Hirschfeld’s recent work in Kubernetes operations has led to the conclusion that containers and related platforms have changed the way we should be thinking about DevOps and...
