DENVER, Sept. 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- SPYR, INC. (OTCQB: SPYR), a holding company with wholly owned subsidiaries in both the mobile game & app development and publishing industry, and in the restaurant industry, today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, SPYR APPS, LLC, has entered into its second publishing agreement with Kemojo Studios, this time to publish its upcoming game, Battlewack: Idle Lords.
Battlewack: Idle Lords is a free to play battle game in which players hire a team of heroes to crush waves of their enemies. The game is similar in concept to Kemojo's successful game, Tap Cats: Idle Warfare, but has a completely different design concept aimed more at mid-core gamers and allowing for grouped multi-player play.
Battlewack falls into the idle genre, which is perfect for mobile devices as it allows the game to progress while the player is away. The heroes will continue to battle in "offline mode," earning experience points and gold. The player can then log back into the game at any time to spend those earnings on upgrading the heroes allowing them to defeat stronger enemies. Like with Tap Cats, heroes can be collected, upgraded and evolved. Players can purchase rare heroes to speed up their progression and defeat more complex challenges.
Kemojo Studios (www.kemojo.com), the game's developer, is a Vancouver-based game company, which has developed numerous successful mobile games, including Undead City Run, Tap Cats: Idle Warfare and Drone: Shadow Strike.
Sean Megaw, Founder of Kemojo Studios states, "Our team is extremely excited to work with SPYR on another title. We have been very impressed with the team from top to bottom and are looking forward to a successful launch."
Paul Thind, SPYR's Managing Director of Games & Applications states, "I am very excited to be working with Sean and Kemojo to publish and market a second game with them. Kemojo keeps creating quality games that get featured in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store when released, which translates to a significant number of downloads and higher revenue."
Battlewack: Idle Lords is expected to be in soft launch this fall.
SPYR, INC. is a holding company that through its wholly owned subsidiary SPYR APPS, LLC, is engaged in mobile application and game publishing and development. SPYR, INC. also owns and operates an "American Diner" theme restaurant located in the Philadelphia International Airport in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania called "Eat at Joe's®" through its other wholly-owned subsidiary, E.A.J.: PHL Airport Inc. The Company is currently exploring opportunities for additional acquisitions in these and other verticals, including mobile application and game development, in order to expand its holdings, to drive and increase revenue and to generate profits and build value for shareholders.
