Cloud-based content management simplifies infrastructure issues related to the creation and management of content either internally or on web, allowing educational institutions to focus on the teaching process. In this model, the maintenance and operation cost, infrastructure cost, updates, and associated risks are handled by third-party service providers rather than end-users.

The traditional method of maintaining hardware and software is a time-consuming process. This is because the creation of connectors for all different systems in the IT infrastructure of an institution and partner systems to achieve an integrated flow of information is difficult. This problem can be resolved by adopting a cloud computing model that offers a wide variety of connectors for systems by leading software vendors.

Content curation capabilities

Users have consistently found it challenging to merge different types of content within one platform. As a result, in most cases, there is a lack of relevant data available and the learning process is incomplete. This deviates learners from their learning goals. Learning content management solution (LCMS) and other content authoring tools are also used to manage and track relevant courses instead of content. Learners are seeking options for easy accessibility to updated and large sources of content to support their learning needs.

Learning methods and goals are continuously changing owing to the shift in assessments and learner requirements. The current traditional system can inhibit content creation and access due to technical and platform incompatibility issues.
