NEW YORK, Sept. 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Blingby, a digital platform taking the video entertainment industry by storm, will be featured on NewsWatch on Friday, September 23rd from 7:00 to 7:30 a.m. ET/PT on the Discovery Channel.
The NewsWatch show, which is hosted by Andrew Tropeano, has been in production since 1990 and reaches over 96 million households nationwide. Over 700 million people have watched the series during its 26-year run, making it one of the most successful independently produced news shows on the air. Although the show airs weekly on ION Network, Blingby will be included in its monthly tech special on the Discovery Channel.
"NewsWatch is known to be at the forefront of the latest developments in the technology and entertainment industries, so we are beyond excited to introduce this audience to Blingby," says Blingby's co-founder and CEO Marcia Favale. "We are eager to see how the viewers react to Blingby, which allows them to experience music views, movie reels and more on a whole new level."
Tropeano will walk through a review of Blingby, showing users how they can instantly shop the different products found in or inspired by the video they are watching. "Watching a video no longer has to be a passive activity," Favale continues. "Now, Blingby users can immerse themselves in the video by shopping the star's look, buying concert tickets or booking a vacation to the location shown on screen."
The platform features a wide range of videos across various genres and appropriate for different age groups. Favale believes Blingby, which is currently available in over 130 countries, is part of a global movement to transform the entertainment technology industry.
"Consumers no longer want just a product or service, they want an experience," Favale states. "We believe NewsWatch viewers will be thrilled to see how Blingby has managed to make an activity as simple as watching a video into a unique viewer experience."
Blingby is currently available on the web at www.blingby.com and as an Android or iOS mobile app through Google Play and iTunes. For additional inquiries please contact Blingby at 877-574-9993 or via email at [email protected]

Web Real-Time Communication APIs have quickly revolutionized what browsers are capable of. In addition to video and audio streams, we can now bi-directionally send arbitrary data over WebRTC's PeerConnection Data Channels. With the advent of Progressive Web Apps and new hardware APIs such as WebBluetooh and WebUSB, we can finally enable users to stitch together the Internet of Things directly from their browsers while communicating privately and securely in a decentralized way.
