Trustwave Unveils the Next Generation of Global Security Operations

Global Network of Federated, Advanced Security Operations Centers Powered by Trustwave Ushers in the Next Generation of Cybersecurity Protection

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwired - September 28, 2016) - Trustwave today introduced the industry's first global network of federated, Advanced Security Operations Centers (ASOCs) designed to power a new generation of managed security services. Unlike traditional security operations centers, federated ASOCs are united worldwide and usher in a new level of local threat awareness combined with global threat visibility and intelligence -- delivering protection on a truly global scale.

The ASOCs are staffed, run and powered by Trustwave, the fastest-growing, global managed security services provider according to industry analysts. ASOCs are "mission control" for delivering managed security services to the private and public sector. They are secure facilities that house the infrastructure and teams delivering customer service, platform management, threat detection, threat hunting and incident response to clients.

The global network of federated, Trustwave Advanced Security Operations Centers:

  • Work as a "hive mind" -- pulling together local and global security analysts and skills to help identify, detect and protect organizations from threats whether they be local, regional or global. Each local ASOC has access to security talent and resources located in other ASOCs located worldwide. The ASOCs are tied together by Trustwave people, process and technology. Protection and threat information is presented to customers through the Trustwave TrustKeeper® managed security services portal which is an integration point for all Trustwave services.
  • Consume regional, telecommunications provider threat intelligence -- regional data from leading telecommunications providers are normalized and correlated through a big data backend. Then experienced security analysts with industry-leading threat intelligence from across the global network of Trustwave ASOCs use this actionable data to provide unique protection available only to Trustwave Managed Security Services clients.
  • Cover the entire cyber kill chain -- Trustwave ASOCs can cover every aspect of a security incident or potential breach from initial detection to final resolution when a business is returned back to steady state operation. This includes 24x7 threat monitoring and detection but goes above and beyond to support threat hunting, incident response, breach containment and the required remediation activities needed to return a business to normal.
  • Benefit from the elite capabilities of the SpiderLabs team at Trustwave -- The Trustwave SpiderLabs team includes security experts, ethical hackers (penetration testers), forensic investigators and security researchers. They work side-by-side with ASOC personnel to bring real-life expertise and threat intelligence into the ASOC. For example, new malware discovered in a forensic investigation is sent to the ASOC team so they can build protections for use across the global network of Trustwave ASOCs and security solutions, protecting customers from new and zero-day threats.

Trustwave Chief Executive Officer and President Robert J. McCullen said, "What Trustwave has introduced is a completely new model and industry standard for managed security services. Our globally federated Advanced Security Operations Centers deliver capabilities, threat intelligence and response measures that go beyond what other managed security services providers can do today."

Trustwave will operate nine ASOCs worldwide strategically located across the globe to provide a footprint that best services global customers. Trustwave recently announced plans to open a new ASOC in Japan.

"We were founded in 2003 and the way we were founded was about good backup and good disaster recovery for our clients, and for the last 20 years we've been pretty consistent with that," noted Marc Malafronte, Territory Manager at StorageCraft, in this SYS-CON.tv interview at 20th Cloud Expo, held June 6-8, 2017, at the Javits Center in New York City, NY.
DevOps is often described as a combination of technology and culture. Without both, DevOps isn't complete. However, applying the culture to outdated technology is a recipe for disaster; as response times grow and connections between teams are delayed by technology, the culture will die.
