A O3b Networks anunciou hoje uma parceria com a Ozonio para fornecer conexão de banda larga de alta velocidade para Tabatinga, no Brasil. Após a parceria bem-sucedida entre O3b e Ozonio para levar os serviços a Tefé, Tabatinga é o próximo município do estado do Amazonas a ser conectada.
Tabatinga é uma cidade remota de mais de 60 mil pessoas, localizada onde o rio Amazonas entra no território brasileiro. Importantes obstáculos geográficos impediram uma conexão de fibra óptica, deixando a população local sem acesso à internet de banda larga de qualidade. Como resultado, as comunicações de voz e dados foram fornecidas através de tecnologias de satélite e de micro-ondas com capacidades limitadas, incapazes de suportar usos modernos, como bate-papo com vídeo ou programas baseados em nuvem.
Juntas, O3b e Ozonio construíram um ponto de presença que abrea possibilidade de conectividade de última geração, impulsionadas pela rede de satélites de baixa latência e alto rendimento da O3b. Com este acesso à internet, equivalente à fibra, os moradores e empresas locais podem aproveitar as oportunidades que antes eram inatingíveis, como a educação on-line e a conexão com pessoas de todas as partes do mundo.
