VIQ Solutions Awarded New Secure Capture and Workflow Contract with Canadian Police Department

MARKHAM, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 11/30/16 -- VIQ Solutions Inc. ("VIQ Solutions", "VIQ" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE: VQS), a global expert providing a cybersecurity protected technology and service platform for digital evidence capture and content management, is pleased to announce that VIQ Dataworxs, in partnership with reseller Edi-Cord WPS, has been awarded a digital capture and workflow contract with an Ontario, Canada, police force.

"Law enforcement agencies continue to be leaders in the rapid adaptation of new digital platforms that strengthen cybersecurity and improve operational effectiveness through the increased utilization of their digital assets," said Sebastien Pare, President and CEO of VIQ Solutions. "With our established global pedigree in these key technologies, the VIQ footprint in modern law enforcement continues to grow."

Over 40 law enforcement and public safety agencies around the world currently use the secure VIQ law enforcement digital capture and management platform.

The customer will use secured interactive telephone recording technology to capture officers' field reports, which will then be automatically routed through a city-wide digital workflow. The sophisticated workflow capabilities enable the customer to streamline their reporting procedures and reduce the amount of paperwork required for officers and staff.

"By digitizing their incident capture procedures, the police force will reduce the amount of officer paperwork, providing an immediate boost to the police department's productivity," said Daryl Duda, VIQ Dataworxs Vice President of Sales and Business Development. "The VIQ Dataworxs advanced voice management system provides an automated backend workflow that increases authorized collaboration on digital files as it simultaneously increases data security."

The contract was won by VIQ Dataworxs reseller Edi-Cord WPS. Earlier in the year, Edi-Cord was awarded a similar capture and workflow contract with an Ontario hospital.

"Through AV partners like Edi-Cord, the VIQ Dataworxs footprint in mid-sized hospitals and law enforcement agencies continues to rapidly expand as these agencies modernize with new technology platforms that emphasize efficiency, automation, privacy and cybersecurity," added Mr. Pare.

You know you need the cloud, but you're hesitant to simply dump everything at Amazon since you know that not all workloads are suitable for cloud. You know that you want the kind of ease of use and scalability that you get with public cloud, but your applications are architected in a way that makes the public cloud a non-starter. You're looking at private cloud solutions based on hyperconverged infrastructure, but you're concerned with the limits inherent in those technologies. What do you do?
As many know, the first generation of Cloud Management Platform (CMP) solutions were designed for managing virtual infrastructure (IaaS) and traditional applications. But that's no longer enough to satisfy evolving and complex business requirements. In his session at 21st Cloud Expo, Scott Davis, Embotics CTO, explored how next-generation CMPs ensure organizations can manage cloud-native and microservice-based application architectures, while also facilitating agile DevOps methodology. The past few years have brought a sea change in the way applications are architected, developed, and consumed—increasing both the complexity of testing and the business impact of software failures. How can software testing professionals keep pace with modern application delivery, given the trends that impact both architectures (cloud, microservices, and APIs) and processes (DevOps, agile, and continuous delivery)? This is where continuous testing comes in. D
