New Cadillac sedans offer more features, performance than rivals

2017 ATS and CTS take on competitors from Chrysler, Mercedes

EDMONTON, Alberta, Nov. 30, 2016 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- It's a commonly held idea that the 2017 model year is on pace to be something pretty special for Cadillac and its vehicles available in the Don Wheaton showroom. This year's luxury sedans from the automaker are led by the 2017 Cadillac CTS and 2017 Cadillac ATS. Both vehicles have received style and attitude boosts from the new Carbon Black appearance package and its exclusive set of exterior elements. With the new model year also comes another round of competitors wishing to take on the two Cadillac sedans. Yet again, Don Wheaton is taking on the task of doing the heavy lifting of head-to-head comparisons.

The Cadillac ATS is a very special model within the Don Wheaton lineup. Not only is it nimble and high-performing, but it also continues to be offered in coupe and sedan body styles. Comparing the 2017 Cadillac ATS vs. 2017 Chrysler 200 shows several advantages for the new ATS. What is immediately noticeable is the major differential in power available with the 2017 ATS.

At the base level, the ATS and Chrysler 200 are both powered by similar turbocharged, 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engines. However, the 2017 Cadillac ATS makes 272 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of toque versus the 184 horsepower and 173 pound-feet of torque produced by the engine of the Chrysler sedan.

From a technology standpoint, the 2017 ATS very far out in front of the 2017 Chrysler 200. Not only does the Cadillac vehicle offer a standard 4G LTE Wi-Fi mobile hotspot and smartphone integration for today's most popular applications.

Examining the race between the 2017 Cadillac CTS vs. 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is one of the closest comparisons Don Wheaton has ever completed. The new E-Class has been completely redesigned for the current model year and has picked up a number of new features. This change has really closed the gap between the two luxury sedans.

However, Cadillac owners will have wider access to more technology. Some versions of the new E-Class may be long on style, but its manufacture has been criticized in independent reviews for not offering certain new features across its lineup.

Anyone can view the Don Wheaton inventory by visiting the dealership's website, www.donwheaton.com. The showroom is located at 10727 – 82 Avenue, Edmonton, AB T6E 2B1.
