Medicomp Systems Welcomes James Aita to Key Strategic Role

Healthcare executive to help technology firm expand its footprint in North America

WASHINGTON, Dec. 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Medicomp Systems (Medicomp) announced today that it has hired James Aita as the company's new Director of Strategy and Business Development for North America. Aita brings over 10 years of experience as a strategist, product manager and business analyst to this leadership position.

Medicomp was founded in 1978 based on the principle that information technology can give clinicians what they need to better care for patients--and save lives. The company developed MEDCIN, a powerful knowledge engine, which is now in use in leading EHRs around the world. Collaboration and work with physicians enables Medicomp to continuously expand the knowledge engine and to innovate new technologies, including the Quippe platform, which improves EHRs and makes them easy for clinicians to use.

Aita has dedicated his career to solving problems within the healthcare ecosystem. Most recently, he was the Head of Healthcare Solutions at Idea Couture in Toronto where he drove the creation of programs, services, and technologies that help to improve patient care while also reducing costs.

Prior to joining the Idea Couture team, Aita spent four years in a senior product management role at Medicomp developing the company's Quippe modules. He has also led product management and operations for healthcare technology firms in the United States and Canada, contributing to awards for both product and customer satisfaction.

"We are incredibly pleased that James has returned to the Medicomp family in this new role. With his industry expertise and deep knowledge of our Quippe modules, he is uniquely positioned to help Medicomp increase our footprint in the North American market and continue to innovate to help both providers and patients," stated David Lareau, CEO at Medicomp.

Medicomp's Quippe is a purpose-built platform designed to enable usable clinical documentation that meets all compliance and reporting requirements, and allows clinicians to make sense of all available clinical data. The Quippe Clinical Engine powers all of Medicomp's products providing users and the enterprise with structured data and decision support tools. The platform can be added to both legacy and new EHRs.

"Delivering the highest quality patient care in the most efficient manner has never been more important for healthcare providers. Medicomp has been an industry leader with proven results for decades—but more importantly, the company continues to develop much-needed, ground-breaking solutions at a rapid pace. I'm thrilled to be part of this strong team and incredibly excited about what we can accomplish together," said Aita.

About Medicomp Systems

Since 1978, when Medicomp's founder Peter Goltra set out to improve physicians' access to relevant patient information and enable sharing of that information throughout the medical system, Medicomp has remained focused on the simple principle that information technology can be used to save lives and give caregivers what they need to care for the patient. The solution to this challenge was the development of a powerful knowledge engine, which is now in use in leading EHRs around the world. Collaboration and work with physicians on staff at Cornell, Harvard and Johns Hopkins, along with other major medical centers, including the Department of Defense Military Health System, enables the Medicomp team to continuously expand the knowledge engine and to innovate new technologies that improve EHR systems and make them easy for clinicians to use.

We are always online. We access our data, our finances, work, and various services on the Internet. But we live in a congested world of information in which the roads were built two decades ago. The quest for better, faster Internet routing has been around for a decade, but nobody solved this problem. We’ve seen band-aid approaches like CDNs that attack a niche's slice of static content part of the Internet, but that’s it. It does not address the dynamic services-based Internet of today.
