RiskSense Named Most Innovative Company of the Year

RiskSense® Inc., the pioneer and market leader in pro-active cyber risk management, today announced it has won Silver for Most Innovative Company of the Year in the 2016 Best in Biz Awards, the only independent business awards program judged by members of the press and industry analysts. The company was recognized for transforming enterprise security by revealing an organization’s cyber risk exposure across a growing attack surface, quickly orchestrating remediation, and monitoring the results.

For this sixth annual Best in Biz Awards there were more than 600 entries from public and private companies of all sizes and across a variety of industries and geographic regions in the U.S. and Canada. Winners were determined based on scoring from an independent panel of 50 judges from widely known newspapers, business, consumer and technology publications, TV outlets, and analyst firms. “If companies are going to stand out from the crowd and remain competitive in future years, innovation is key,” said Charlie Osborne, ZDNet, one of the judges in the Best in Biz Awards. “This year’s entries in Best in Biz Awards highlighted not only innovative business practices but the emergence of next-generation technologies, which will keep companies current and relevant.”

"RiskSense is actively and innovatively addressing very real and growing threats to national, enterprise, and personal security by anticipating cyber-attacks, not just responding," added Annlee Ellingson, L.A. Biz, returning to judge her third Best in Biz Awards competition.

“Being selected as one of the three Most Innovative Companies of the Year by the Best in Biz panel of respected journalists and industry analysts is a special honor,” said Torsten George, vice president of global marketing and products at RiskSense. “2016 has been a breakout year for RiskSense. We brought to market a completely new approach to cyber risk management, achieved 100 percent year-over-year growth, and have been honored with 26 industry accolades. We expect this momentum to continue in 2017.”

RiskSense is changing the way organizations detect and manage cyber risk. The RiskSense Platform enables organizations to pro-actively discover and address cyber security gaps based on the risk they pose to business operations. It extracts actionable intelligence from the massive volume of data generated by a patchwork of cyber security products, including vulnerability scanners, threat intelligence feeds, and other complex security systems. This allows enterprises and governments to quickly understand their particular cyber risk exposure across a growing attack surface, quickly orchestrate remediation, and monitor the results.

More and more brands have jumped on the IoT bandwagon. We have an excess of wearables – activity trackers, smartwatches, smart glasses and sneakers, and more that track seemingly endless datapoints. However, most consumers have no idea what “IoT” means. Creating more wearables that track data shouldn't be the aim of brands; delivering meaningful, tangible relevance to their users should be. We're in a period in which the IoT pendulum is still swinging. Initially, it swung toward "smart for smar...
