QGenda Extends Position as Market Leader Entering 10th Year

QGenda, the #1 cloud-based automated physician scheduling software, today announced that it extended its position as market leader and now has over 1,500 customers in more than 30 medical specialties across 5,000 hospitals. Celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2016, QGenda added 550 new customers surpassing 100,000 active clinical providers.

I am proud that after a decade in the healthcare software market, we’re still able to report such outstanding growth,” said Greg Benoit, founder and CEO. “QGenda has continued to thrive by developing high-quality solutions that are valued by healthcare professionals and for delivering phenomenal customer success. The strong results we achieved in 2016 are a testament to our amazing employees who all work together as a team to provide the best healthcare workforce management solution on the market.

In June of 2016, QGenda received a substantial investment from Francisco Partners, a global technology-focused private equity firm. The funding is fueling the next phase of product and market expansion. “The expertise of Francisco Partners as a premier healthcare private equity group, has already significantly benefited QGenda and our customers with the ability to attract and retain the best talent in our industry.” said Benoit. QGenda recently added key industry veterans to the team to ensure continued growth, outstanding customer satisfaction, and product innovation.

QGenda not only has been able to handle the increases in scheduling complexity, growth of the business, and increased flexibility but has also improved the quality, transparency, and fairness of schedules. Tallying that would have taken hours before QGenda, now takes 10 minutes. A time off request that would have taken 60 minutes to administer before QGenda now takes 5 minutes or less. QGenda helps give us the insight we need to more precisely plan to meet future demand with as few providers as possible,” said Dr. Vladimir Savcenko, St. Paul Radiology, P.A.

2016 was a tremendous market validation for QGenda. Private physician practices, academic medical centers, hospitals, and enterprise health systems clearly indicated their preference of QGenda. We surpassed 12 million physician shift hours scheduled each month which is 4 times the volume of our nearest competitor,” said Jim Norton, SVP Sales & Marketing.

QGenda will exhibit at the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conference in Orlando at booth #431, from February 19th-23rd, 2017.

Cognitive Computing is becoming the foundation for a new generation of solutions that have the potential to transform business. As software becomes more and more complex, we, as software developers, have been splitting up our code into smaller and smaller components. This is also true for the environment in which we run our code: going from bare metal, to VMs to the modern-day Cloud Native world of containers, schedulers and micro services. While we have figured out how to run containerized applications in the cloud using schedulers, we've yet to come up with a good solution to bridge the gap between getting your contain...
The modern software development landscape consists of best practices and tools that allow teams to deliver software in a near-continuous manner. For basic one-to-one voice or video calling solutions, WebRTC has proven to be a very powerful technology. Although WebRTC’s core functionality is to provide secure, real-time p2p media streaming, leveraging native platform features and server-side components brings up new communication capabilities for web and native mobile applications, allowing for advanced multi-user use cases such as video broadcasting, conferencing, and media recording.
WebRTC is about the data channel as much as about video and audio conferencing. However, basically all commercial WebRTC applications have been built with a focus on audio and video. The handling of “data” has been limited to text chat and file download – all other data sharing seems to end with screensharing. What is holding back a more intensive use of peer-to-peer data? In her session at @ThingsExpo, Dr Silvia Pfeiffer, WebRTC Applications Team Lead at National ICT Australia, looked at differ...
