Redwood Software désigné acteur majeur du marché dans le rapport indépendant sur l’automatisation des processus robotiques (APR)

Redwood Software, spécialiste de l’automatisation des processus robotiques (APR) d’entreprise, a été désigné acteur majeur du marché dans le rapport de Forrester Research, Inc. : « The Forrester Wave™: Robotic Process Automation, Q1 2017 » (automatisation des processus robotiques, 1er trimestre 2017).

Le rapport évalue la solution de Redwood par rapport à certains critères dont l’intégration au poste de travail et au poste de travail virtuel, la conception de la création des robots et le moteur d’automatisation, entre autres éléments. Forrester note que Redwood se concentre davantage sur l’interface du programme d’application (application program interface, API) et moins sur l’interface utilisateur (user interface, UI) (intégration au poste de travail), en comparaison avec d’autres fournisseurs dans ce même secteur d’activité. La société souligne également que Redwood s’inspire de son expérience des services professionnels dans le domaine de la planification des ressources d’entreprise (enterprise ressource planning, ERP),

comblant les lacunes des applications d’entreprise SAP et Oracle, afin de limiter le travail manuel pour la chaîne d’approvisionnement, la logistique, les prévisions, la livraison du commerce électronique et l’affichage financier.

Redwood utilise un catalogue de robots SAP et Oracle pour limiter les temps de déploiement de ses robots, ce qui entraîne moins de robots centralisés qui fonctionnent sans se soucier d’un poste de travail physique. Les fonctionnalités liées à la salle de contrôle et à la gouvernance englobent des affichages en temps réel de la progression des robots et des formulaires d’audit qui fournissent un instantané sur ce que les robots ont effectué en indiquant les sources des données et les étapes.

Redwood estime que c’est en cela qu’il se différencie principalement. Sa méthode d’intégration préférée consiste à faire en sorte que les robots n’interagissent pas au niveau de l’interface utilisateur (UI), mais qu’ils s’intègrent directement avec l’ERP et les autres applications. Sa vaste bibliothèque de composants pré-usinés et ses nombreux processus d’entreprise robotiques qui s’élèvent à plus de 100 permettent de supprimer le codage personnalisé et l’entretien continu des scripts. D’où des niveaux d’automatisation optimaux (entre 70 et 100 %), des temps rapides de mise en œuvre, et des robots réutilisables qui peuvent facilement être mis à l’échelle et déployés à l’échelle mondiale.

La vision de Redwood est d’aider l’entreprise à devenir « The Robotic Enterprise » ™ (une entreprise robotique), dans laquelle tous les processus, tels que les cycles Document-rapport, Commande-encaissement, Approvisionnement-paiement, le Capital humain et la Chaîne d’approvisionnement, sont exécutés par des robots, en faisant uniquement intervenir des personnes lorsque leur réflexion s’impose en matière de jugement et d’analyse. L’élimination du besoin d’automatisation basée sur le poste de travail abolit la nécessité de mettre en place d’importantes équipes d’individus chargés de manuellement gérer et recoder les robots. À la place, quelques utilisateurs de l’entreprise sont généralement habilités à effectuer des changements de processus sans devoir constamment développer et entretenir des scripts.
