Jos. A. Bank Selects Edgecase Product Intelligence Platform to Enrich E-Commerce Product Vocabulary, Creating Over 60,000 New Product Values Across the Site – Bringing Agility and Performance

Edgecase today announced that Jos. A. Bank, a leading men’s clothing retailer, has selected the Edgecase Product Intelligence Platform to create and optimize the retailer’s product data to deliver a more inspiring shopping experience for customers. Jos. A. Bank selected the Enrich platform to unlock operational efficiencies while improving product findability and relevancy. The Edgecase platform has created more than 60,000 new product values, or product attributes for Jos. A Bank. The company also reports a 7.8% improvement in filter engagement since going live with the Edgecase platform in January 2017.

To transform its site experience by incorporating the language of shoppers, Jos. A. Bank needed a solution that would make its online product data more consistent and relevant. The Edgecase platform normalizes this search and navigation language and enriches product data by filling in the gaps with consistent e-commerce structured product data. This allows Jos. A. Bank customers to more easily find the right product using search terms that are more familiar to them.

“Prior to working with Edgecase, not all products on the Jos. A. Bank site were tagged with all the right product attributes. Edgecase not only cleaned up those attributes, but added more relevant ones to better help our customers find the right products. Furthermore, this platform has saved us significant hours in product curation time,” said Samantha Lee, VP of Site Management and Customer Experience, Tailored Brands, Inc. “The Edgecase team exceeded our expectations with their work on the Men’s Wearhouse site experience, so it was an easy decision to utilize the platform for Jos. A. Bank to ensure consistency in product attribution across the company.”

Key results delivered by the Edgecase platform include:

  • Immediate, agile product enrichment for nearly 8,000 products across the Jos. A. Bank site in a brief 30 days – a feat that would have required 11 full time resources if attempted without Edgecase technology
  • Expanded to 43 total product attributes across the Jos. A. Bank site, a 617% increase, beyond the same six attributes per category per page - including fit, size, color, material, collections
  • Continually curated daily product feeds 7,500 new product values per month as an ongoing service

“With all the competition for shopper loyalty, it is important for retailers to get back to the basics, and connect shoppers with the products that map best to their preferences. Tailored Brands, Inc. understands that improving loyalty requires properly structured and enriched data to get the right set of products in front of a shopper,” said Susanne Bowen, CEO, Edgecase. “Tailored Brands has trusted us to make that happen for the Men’s Wearhouse, and now with Jos. A. Bank. We look forward to continuing to create the necessary product data that will help super-fuel their e-commerce sites and create better shopping experiences for their customers.”
