Caruma Technologies Selected by RocketSpace to Participate in Highly Acclaimed Technology Startup Accelerator

One of 11 Applicants Out of Hundreds Chosen for Highly Selective Mobility Tech Accelerator

SAN FRANCISCO, June 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Caruma Technologies, The Intelligent Connected-Vehicle Platform™ company, announced today its selection into RocketSpace's Mobility Tech Accelerator, a new program that assists startups that are disrupting the mobility space in areas such as the electric vehicle ecosystem, connected car, and associated services.

RocketSpace selects Caruma Technologies for its Mobility Tech Accelerator. Caruma is one of 11 startups selected out of hundreds of applicants in the legendary accelerator's program.

RocketSpace provides resources that enable high-growth startups to scale and helps corporations to fuel innovation by tapping into the global startup ecosystem. Coinciding with the grand opening of RocketSpace's new office in London, the Mobility Tech Accelerator, founded by corporate partner BP, kicked off the program with the first group of high-potential startups last week.

Caruma Technologies improves driving safety, security and convenience by combining artificial intelligence (AI) and computer vision with high definition video collected by its windshield-mounted Caruma Cam device that simultaneously monitors drivers for drowsy or distracted driving, and the road for near misses, tailgating, lane departure and other factors that directly impact safety, and connects vehicles to a continuous learning cloud and an AI-powered Open Vehicle Network™.

"The Mobility Tech accelerator is designed to help promising companies like Caruma Technologies get to the next phase of growth," said Duncan Logan, RocketSpace CEO. "Our program pairs high impact mobility startups with some of the leading industry corporations to engage in pilots that will validate a business opportunity and lead to long lasting partnerships, and we're very excited to have Caruma be involved in this first cohort."

"We are excited and humbled to be selected by RocketSpace, a world-class startup accelerator with a wildly successful track record," said Chris Carson, CEO and founder, Caruma Technologies. "The mobility industry is changing so quickly with advances in technology and new applications that collaborative platforms like RocketSpace's Mobility Tech Accelerator are extremely valuable in fueling our next stage of growth."

Corporate collaborators for the Mobility Tech Accelerator program include BP, Magna, Allstate, Volkswagen Group of America, Avis Budget Group and IBM.

RocketSpace's pilot-focused accelerator program scours the industry for the most disruptive startups as well as the most progressive corporate collaborators to fuel cross-industry innovation. Its unique program is designed to serve as an ongoing platform that results in a continuous stream of commercially viable solutions that allows startups in the program the opportunity to work closely with the corporate collaborators in a dedicated product validation program and tap into its network of blue-chip companies.

You know you need the cloud, but you’re hesitant to simply dump everything at Amazon since you know that not all workloads are suitable for cloud. You know that you want the kind of ease of use and scalability that you get with public cloud, but your applications are architected in a way that makes the public cloud a non-starter. You’re looking at private cloud solutions based on hyperconverged infrastructure, but you’re concerned with the limits inherent in those technologies.
"MobiDev is a Ukraine-based software development company. We do mobile development, and we're specialists in that. But we do full stack software development for entrepreneurs, for emerging companies, and for enterprise ventures," explained Alan Winters, U.S. Head of Business Development at MobiDev, in this SYS-CON.tv interview at 20th Cloud Expo, held June 6-8, 2017, at the Javits Center in New York City, NY.
Managing mission-critical SAP systems and landscapes has never been easy. Add public cloud with its myriad of powerful cloud native services and this may not change any time soon. Public cloud offers exciting new possibilities for enterprise workloads. But to make use of these possibilities and capabilities, IT teams need to re-think everything they have done before. Otherwise, they will just end up using public cloud as a hosting platform for their workloads, aka known as “lift and shift.”
