FN Herstal und Milrem Robotics stellen auf der DSEI ein unbemanntes Waffenkriegsführungssystem aus

Dieses System verfügt über das THeMIS unbemannte Bodenfahrzeug von Milrem und die deFNder® Fernwaffenstation von FN Herstal. Das gemeinsame Produkt weist starke Vorteile beim Bereitstellen von Feuerunterstützung und Verstärken der Streitkräfte auf.

Das System wurde bereits mit positiven Ergebnissen bei der größten estnischen Militärübung Spring Storm 2017 eingesetzt. Die beiden Unternehmen werden im Laufe dieses Jahres ihre R&D-Bemühungen weiter fortsetzen.

„Die kombinierte Lösung von deFNder® Medium und THeMIS, bei der die Technologien und das Know-How unserer beiden Unternehmen zusammenkommen, zeigt das Potential des Konzepts", sagte Vincent Verleye, COO von FN Herstal. „Der Mehrwert eines derartigen Waffenrobotersystems erklärt sich von selbst", fügte er hinzu.

Das getrackte dieselelektrische THeMIS UGV soll abgesetzte Truppen unterstützen, sogar auf sehr rauem Gelände und unter schwierigen Bedingungen. Mit einem vollen Tank, der jederzeit nachgefüllt werden kann, ist es 10 Stunden einsatzfähig. Das System hat eine Nutzlast von mindestens 750 kg/1650 Pfund.

Im Gegensatz zu konkurrierenden System ist das THeMIS ein Multimissionssystem, das mit mehreren unterschiedlichen Aufbauten ausgestattet werden kann, einschließlich IED-Erfassungs- und Entsorgungssystemen, klein- und großkalibriger Waffen sowie angebundener und nicht angebundener Dronen.

Das System wird in der estnischen Halle N3-430 mit anderen estnischen Abwehrindustriepartnern ausgestellt.
