MONTVALE, N.J., Oct. 12, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Sharp Business Systems, a direct sales division of Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America and Sharp Electronics Corporation, was named Partner of the Year by Continuum, the exclusive provider of a vertically integrated IT service delivery platform that enables IT service providers to scale rapidly and profitably.

"The entire Sharp team is honored to be recognized by a partner as fantastic as Continuum," said Newt Higman, National Director, Managed Services, Sharp Business Systems. "Our two-and-a-half-year partnership has been a successful venture through which we've been able to offer the best in managed network services to our customers."

The award was presented by Continuum to Sharp Business Systems at a ceremony in Las Vegas during its annual user conference, Navigate 2017. The Continuum Partner of the Year Award specifically recognizes the company's top partner overall by revenue.

"Sharp's commitment to transforming their clients' IT by partnering with Continuum has been second-to-none," said Bob Kocis, CRO, Continuum. "By taking advantage of our vertically integrated IT management and service delivery platform and educational services, Sharp's impressive revenue performance in the managed service space has earned them the title of Partner of the Year at Navigate 2017. We want to congratulate the entire Sharp Business Systems team and look forward to seeing them raise the bar again next year."

Sharp has been working with Continuum and its suite of managed network services since 2014. The relationship allows Sharp to provide network monitoring and management, help desk support and backup/disaster recovery to help provide a proactive approach for businesses to avoid potential IT issues.

Navigate 2017 brought together various names in managed IT services to learn, collaborate and network in order to develop new strategies to take their organizations to the next level. This is the second consecutive year Sharp has been recognized at Navigate. In 2016, Sharp received the Revenue Rock Star Partner Award from Continuum, which recognized outstanding growth in managed network services.

Companies are harnessing data in ways we once associated with science fiction. Analysts have access to a plethora of visualization and reporting tools, but considering the vast amount of data businesses collect and limitations of CPUs, end users are forced to design their structures and systems with limitations. Until now. As the cloud toolkit to analyze data has evolved, GPUs have stepped in to massively parallel SQL, visualization and machine learning.
DevOps is under attack because developers don’t want to mess with infrastructure. They will happily own their code into production, but want to use platforms instead of raw automation. That’s changing the landscape that we understand as DevOps with both architecture concepts (CloudNative) and process redefinition (SRE). Rob Hirschfeld’s recent work in Kubernetes operations has led to the conclusion that containers and related platforms have changed the way we should be thinking about DevOps and...
