IDEMIA teste un programme de vérification biométrique en association avec la Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. et le Service des douanes et de la protection des frontières des États-Unis

IDEMIA, le leader des identités de confiance dans un monde de plus en plus digital et principal fournisseur de services d’identité des États-Unis, et la Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. (CRL) ont annoncé conjointement aujourd’hui avoir effectué un test avec le Service des douanes et de la protection des frontières des États-Unis (CBP) faisant usage de la reconnaissance faciale pour confirmer l’identité des passagers pendant l’entrée et la réentrée dans les bateaux de croisières, afin de rendre plus sûr et plus rapide le traitement des passagers dans les points d’entrée maritimes du pays.

Un test de « réentrée maritime », effectué au port Cape Liberty dans le New Jersey, a fait usage du service de capture et de reconnaissance faciale d’IDEMIA pour confirmer l’identité des personnes débarquant des bateaux de la Royal Caribbean grâce aux identités faciales des passagers porteurs de billets qui ont embarqué au début de la croisière. Le test a démontré des capacités de reconnaissance faciale de haute qualité et à grande vitesse avec une grande quantité de passagers. Il a aussi facilité les formalités douanières et la confirmation que les personnes embarquant dans le bateau étaient les mêmes que celles en débarquant. Les enquêtes de satisfaction auprès des passagers qui ont débarqué ont révélé un haut degré de satisfaction concernant la vitesse des formalités douanières et l’utilisation intuitive de la caméra à reconnaissance faciale.

RCL, IDEMIA et CBP considèrent ces tests de réentrée maritime comme un excellent exemple de partenariat public-privé. « IDEMIA est à l’avant-garde en matière de “transformation du passager”, a déclaré Bob Eckel, Président d’IDEMIA Amérique du Nord. La reconnaissance faciale constitue en particulier un moyen discret pour faciliter l’entrée et la sortie des citoyens, américains ou non, avec aisance et sécurité, un projet d’importance pour le gouvernement fédéral. »
