IDEMIA prueba el Programa de Verificación Biométrica con Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. y la Aduana de Estados Unidos y Protección de Fronteras

(RCL) conjuntamente anunciaron hoy que han completado un estudio con la Aduana de EE.UU. y Protección de Fronteras (CBP) que utiliza el reconocimiento facial para validar las identidades de los pasajeros para el ingreso y reingreso de embarcaciones cruceros con el fin de asegurar más y acelerar el procesamiento de los pasajeros en los puertos marítimos de entrada a EE.UU.

Un estudio de “Reingreso marítimo", realizado en el Puerto de Cruceros Cape Liberty en Nueva Jersey, utilizó la solución de captura y reconocimiento facial de IDEMIA para confirmar las identidades faciales de los individuos que desembarcan de los cruceros de Royal Caribbean con las identidades faciales de los pasajeros con pasaje que abordaron el barco en el comienzo del crucero. El estudio demostró un coincidencia de alta calidad/alta velocidad con grandes poblaciones de pasajeros, egreso de aduana acelerado y confirmación de que los individuos que embarcan el crucero son los mismos que aquellos que desembarcan. Los estudios de los pasajeros que desembarcan demostraron altos grados de satisfacción respecto de la velocidad de salida de la aduana y el compromiso intuitivo con la cámara facial.

RCL, IDEMIA y CBP en conjunto vieron a los estudios de Reingreso marítimo como un ejemplo fuerte de asociación público-privada. “IDEMIA está en la vanguardia de la ‘Transformación de Pasajeros’”, dijo Bob Eckel, Presidente de IDEMIA Norteamérica. “Los pasajeros necesitan moverse con seguridad, aunque con rapidez y de manera conveniente a través de los procesos de las fronteras. Las soluciones biométricas que estamos evaluando con RCL y CBP nos permiten demostrar la tecnología importante que se puede usar en las aplicaciones de gestión de fronteras hoy en una manera eficiente y segura. El reconocimiento facial en particular es una manera no invasiva de facilitar y dar seguridad a los ciudadanos y no ciudadanos de EE.UU. que ingresan y salen del país, un iniciativa importante para el gobierno federal”.
