Cubroid Inc. Launches CURO, Smart Toy AI platform at CES 2018

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Jan. 4, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- CURO, an interactive wireless modular robotics set that allows children to experience the basics of coding & AI, has launched at CES 2018. CURO aims to expose young minds to coding and technology through fun and dynamic blocks and simple coding programs.

CURO, Smart Toy AI platform

More information about the innovation behind CURO is available at www.cubroid.ai.

"In the technologically advanced world that we live in today, coding & AI education has become increasingly important," says Founder and CEO, Mark Shin, who has leveraged a background in educational technology. "We have looked to classic toy items to bring a productive and valuable idea to life."

Unlike other educational coding & AI products, CURO is impressively easy-to-use and fun. There are two distinct types of building blocks that exhibit unique features. Each box houses a wireless module and camera and microphone and LCD display and speaker and motor, and the connecting features of the blocks function through wireless communication. The blocks encourage creativity, as they can be assembled in various fashions and intelligent robots can be created.

CURO is paired with a control coding smartphone & pc web application that enhances the educational aspect of the product. Children can use the application to engage with and prompt movement in their unique block structures. Additionally, a more advanced online AI program, Platform (Smart Toy AI platform), is available to be explored by those who want to take their coding & AI skills to the next level. The paired programs and applications can be connected via Wi-Fi and do not involve complicated installation procedures.

Jason Kwak, the CTO at Cubroid, adds, "Our kit is multidimensional, and we truly believe that children will genuinely enjoy learning through CURO. We have thoughtfully designed the blocks and the programs with the optimal user experience in mind."

Pre-orders of CURO are available from June of 2018 on Kickstarter, and it is a consumer-ready product.

During the Kickstarter Campaign, the product can be pre-ordered starting at $99 for the Early Bird Basic Kit with retail pricing expected to be $199 for the Basic Kit.

The benefits of automated cloud deployments for speed, reliability and security are undeniable. The cornerstone of this approach, immutable deployment, promotes the idea of continuously rolling safe, stable images instead of trying to keep up with managing a fixed pool of virtual or physical machines. In this talk, we'll explore the immutable infrastructure pattern and how to use continuous deployment and continuous integration (CI/CD) process to build and manage server images for any platfo...

Enterprises are universally struggling to understand where the new tools and methodologies of DevOps fit into their organizations, and are universally making the same mistakes. These mistakes are not unavoidable, and in fact, avoiding them gifts an organization with sustained competitive advantage, just like it did for Japanese Manufacturing Post WWII.
Most modern computer languages embed a lot of metadata in their application. We show how this goldmine of data from a runtime environment like production or staging can be used to increase profits. Cloud computing is a goal aspired to by all organizations, yet those in regulated industries and many public sector organizations are challenged in adopting cloud technologies. The ability to use modern application development capabilities such as containers, serverless computing, platform-based services, IoT and others are potentially of great benefit for these organizations but doing so in a public cloud-consistent way is the challenge.
The digital transformation is real! To adapt, IT professionals need to transform their own skillset to become more multi-dimensional by gaining both depth and breadth of a wide variety of knowledge and competencies. Historically, while IT has been built on a foundation of specialty (or "I" shaped) silos, the DevOps principle of "shifting left" is opening up opportunities for developers, operational staff, security and others to grow their skills portfolio, advance their careers and become "T"-sh...

When building large, cloud-based applications that operate at a high scale, it’s important to maintain a high availability and resilience to failures. In order to do that, you must be tolerant of failures, even in light of failures in other areas of your application. “Fly two mistakes high” is an old adage in the radio control airplane hobby. It means, fly high enough so that if you make a mistake, you can continue flying with room to still make mistakes. In his session at 18th Cloud Expo, Lee A...
